Two days of life drawing

This week, I had the pleasure of spending the whole of Monday and Tuesday at the art gallery life drawing and painting. Two figure studies in oils in two day - what luxury! Drawings on day two were ropey so shan't post those but the afternoon painting wasn't too bad. I'm improving I think. Just got to keep practising.

Another still life

Last week's still life, probably about three hours in the making. Don't like the cork but enjoyable to do this one.

Oil paint on gessoed Heritage White 315gsm.

Mothballed

As I said in a previous post, no headspace or energy for etching at the moment so I've mothballed PB temporarily. This image is probably about three quarters done but will go into suspended animation for the foreseeable. PB will be back though... he has many stories left to tell. It's a bit of a relief to have made the decision actually. I realise I put a lot of pressure on myself when it comes to etching and the images I make. Painting is a lot more relaxing.

August life drawing

Two-hour oil sketch in oil paint

Quick and simple still life paintings

No headspace for printmaking at the moment so quick, simple still life sketches in oil are where it's at right now. I've been talking about improving my painting skills for years. So, here I go.

Sit rep

Here's a progress report on where I'm at with Dramatis Personae. The cards are mostly done and I've begun experimenting with the monoprinted background. Still some way to go on that though; colours need more work.
Still quite a bit to do round the edges - lots of busy new characters to introduce.
